At first I thought it was another god who took Cap's appearance to help me trust him, because spirits often appear to me as whichever character/actor suits them best. Then I asked the gods who he was and they went, "Honey, don't freak out, but this is Steve Rogers. WE SAID DON'T FREAK OUT, WHY IS YOUR HEAD EXPLODING???"<br /><br />Plus I noticed a pretty strong pattern with how the superhero genre has been so entrenched in our culture in barely a few decades. People argue over which stories are the best, they basically worship their favorite superhero (and especially the actor's interpretation they like the most :D ), and then there's this thing where actors love to do social events as "their" hero--it's almost like a priest taking on their deity's persona. :D<br /><br />Superhero mythology is basically Modern-Day Mythology, so SOMEONE in the Otherworld has to be nudging people along.Jamie Lhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02209262216110211643noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419676300278640329.post-63068654848871141782017-05-09T14:27:25.458-04:002017-05-09T14:27:25.458-04:00I've got a John Henry one started, but I'm...I've got a John Henry one started, but I'm waiting to hear back from a historian friend on some details; it should be up sometime next wee. I probably won't write about Pecos Bill, at least for a while, because I'm focusing on spirits more local to me (I'm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania). If you'd like to write about Pecos Bill, I'd love to post a link, or I can post the whole story here, if you don't have a blog. The Professorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08496516038405576606noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5419676300278640329.post-81742479230042326502017-05-09T12:38:37.867-04:002017-05-09T12:38:37.867-04:00How about Pecos Bill, John Henry? How about Pecos Bill, John Henry?Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17138488915239963190noreply@blogger.com
